Sony FX2 Full-Frame Cinema Camera – Body + XLR Handle

The FX2 has something the FX3 and FX30 don't: an eye-level electronic viewfinder. With its 33 MP sensor and mechanical shutter, it is also the Cinema Line camera to choose if you shoot stills as well as video, or work in bright sun. This listing includes Sony's XLR handle unit, so you can plug in professional microphones without a separate recorder.

What it does well

• Sensor: full frame (35.9 × 23.9 mm), about 33 MP for stills and 27.6 MP for video.
• 4K up to 60p: XAVC HS or XAVC S at up to 200 Mbps, 10-bit 4:2:2.
• All-Intra and DCI 4K: XAVC S-I 4K and DCI 4K (4096 × 2160) at up to 600 Mbps, 10-bit 4:2:2.
• Slow motion: Full HD at up to 120p.
• Viewfinder: 0.5-type electronic viewfinder, about 3.69 million dots, plus a 3.0-inch touchscreen.
• XLR handle (included): two XLR/TRS inputs and a 3.5 mm input, for 4-channel, 24-bit audio. The handle weighs about 305 g.
• Stabilisation: in-body sensor shift.
• Two card slots: slot 1 takes CFexpress Type A or SD, slot 2 takes SD.

Good to know

4K tops out at 60p on the FX2; 120p is Full HD only. If you need 4K 120p, look at the Sony FX3. The FX2 runs on the same NP-FZ100 battery as Sony's other full-frame cameras.

Where it fits
